New York and Florida Legal Support at Your Fingertips: Remote Services Available Now!
Lawyer For Business forms LLCs and handles contracts for New York City owners, with a published package price and consultation booking.
If you’re forming an LLC in New York City and you know contracts are coming soon after, you want a lawyer who tells you what that costs before you sign anything.
Founding partner Andrea A. Willis is an experienced New York and Florida business attorney who represents clients across New York State, including New York City. Our firm publishes its New York LLC package price rather than quoting it case by case: $2,495, plus $500 in the New York City area, plus credit card fees, as of October 2026.
This page covers what that package includes and what still has to happen in the first 120 days after your LLC is filed. It also covers how we handle contracts and how the whole engagement proceeds if you never set foot in an office.
Each state fee sits inside the one price, at the stage where it comes up.
Lawyer For Business represents clients throughout New York State, and New York City is where many of our LLC and contract clients are based, through our New York business lawyer practice.
We work with:
Among our New York clients are medical and dental professionals, restaurants, audio-video distribution and integration companies, transportation and logistics businesses, social media marketing and production companies, and architectural firms. We also represent international business owners who operate in New York State.
Lawyer For Business is a woman-owned law firm. One client we helped with M/WBE certification in New York City, Marie VanNostrand, said: “Andrea Willis was instrumental in helping our small, women-owned business be certified as a M/WBE in NYC. The process was daunting, but Andrea made it seamless with her guidance. She was responsive, knowledgeable, and delivered high-quality work that exceeded our expectations.”
The best time to involve a business lawyer is before you need one, while you still have room to plan rather than to fix something.
Formation mistakes are hard to unwind once you’ve already filed. Errors made at this stage can do lasting damage to a company’s health, which is why we see legal fees here as an investment, not an expense to minimize.
Most online filing services advertise a low upfront price and then add costs later, once you’re already committed to using them. A published, itemized price front-loads that decision instead.
Our New York LLC package costs $2,495, plus $500 in the New York City area, plus credit card fees, as of October 2026. It’s published as a fixed price rather than a quote that changes once you’ve started.
The package includes:
That price also includes four state costs that most quotes leave separate:
Once you sign the retainer agreement and pay, you are legally in business within 24 to 48 hours.

Filing your Articles of Organization starts the clock on New York’s publication requirement. It doesn’t end your obligations.
Under New York’s rule, a domestic LLC must publish notice of its formation in two newspapers within 120 days after its Articles of Organization take effect, then file a Certificate of Publication along with the affidavits of publication, according to the New York Department of State.
Publication cost varies by county, and we include the average cost inside our flat fee rather than billing it separately. Under our LLC package, we handle all the filing requirements for compliance during those 120 days. You follow our instructions to get your EIN and sign the operating agreement we draft for you, and we take care of the rest.
Our guide to New York LLC publication requirements walks through the deadline and the newspaper process in more detail.
An operating agreement goes beyond standard startup paperwork. It is the rulebook that governs your company, and even a single-member LLC benefits from having one.
A template or an AI-drafted agreement can look complete and still leave out the situations that actually cause disputes between owners. Ours is built to cover:
We draft New York operating agreements for new LLCs and review or update existing ones that were drafted elsewhere.
We review, draft and negotiate the contracts that come with running a business, not just the one that forms it, including:
Any contract touching money, liability, ownership, your employees, your intellectual property or a long-term obligation is worth having reviewed before you sign it, not after you’ve already agreed to its terms.
Contract review isn’t priced as a flat fee. As a rule of thumb, Andrea budgets about an hour of review for every 10 pages of a document to produce a bullet-point list of feedback and concerns.
If you want it redlined and revised, that’s usually another one to three hours for a 15-page document, depending on your feedback and how many rounds of revision it takes. The total depends more on how much is on each page and how complicated it is than on the page count alone. We try to give an estimated turnaround for a contract review, so you can plan ahead.
The feedback list is a separate memo. The redline is the contract itself, edited, and it costs more hours.
Before you book a consultation, you can run one search yourself. The New York Department of State’s Corporation and Business Entity Database lets you search existing corporations, LLCs, limited partnerships, LLPs and assumed names for free.
The Department of State itself says this search shouldn’t be used to decide whether a name is available for your own filing. It’s a useful first look, not a final answer, which is why our LLC package includes unlimited name availability searches as part of the formation work itself.
Beyond LLC formation and contracts, we handle several other matters for New York City businesses:
| Service | What it covers | Learn more |
|---|---|---|
| PLLC formation | Formation services for licensed professionals practicing throughout New York, including New York City | PLLC lawyer |
| Trademark registration | Searches, application preparation, office action responses, ownership changes, portfolio management and renewals | Trademark registration |
| M/WBE certification | Guidance through the application process for women- or minority-owned business certification | M/WBE service |
| Outside corporate counsel | Ongoing contract, compliance and operational support, similar to having in-house counsel | Outside counsel |
Here is how Andrea describes her work with New York City owners:
I work closely with New York City business owners to establish the right legal foundation for their ventures, whether that means forming an LLC or a PLLC for a professional practice. My goal is to make the process straightforward and personal, helping each client understand their options, protect their interests, and build a business structure that supports their long-term goals. Starting a business is a big step, and I want my clients to feel confident that they have the right legal guidance from day one.
We don’t have an office in New York City, and you don’t need one nearby to work with us. Consultations happen by phone or video call, and you can handle the entire matter online.
We offer a flat fee only for entity formation, like our New York LLC package, and for trademark work. Everything else, including contract review, is scoped and estimated separately rather than quoted as a flat rate.
A multi-member operating agreement spells out how ownership works between the owners themselves: buy-sell terms, what happens if a member dies, goes bankrupt, divorces or becomes incapacitated, and how membership can be transferred.
We draft these terms as part of our New York LLC services, along with membership interest certificates and the restrictions on who a member can sell or transfer their interest to. When your LLC has more than one owner, we usually suggest a buy-sell agreement as well. That agreement is billed separately from our LLC package, at $350/hour, usually starting at 1.5-3 hours.
Look at the legend on each certificate. It points back to the transfer terms in the operating agreement.
Yes. We form New York corporations as well as LLCs, drafting articles of incorporation, bylaws and shareholder agreements for both S and C corporations.
A custom shareholder agreement is an additional $350, as of October 1, 2026, under our corporation package. Which entity fits your business depends on your plans: LLCs tend to offer more flexibility, while corporations are often the better structure if you’re raising outside investment.
Yes. Andrea A. Willis is a Florida Bar and New York bar member in good standing.
